The New Old West
This past year, I've been reflecting back upon the metamorphosis that my family has been through. The cocoon phase wasn't fun, but necessary, and now I find so much beauty in it all.
I've been working away on this next series of paintings–layered, light, soft scenes of the often dark and harsh Wild West. I'm nearing the end of this series and already find myself transitioning to new, completely different work, but I have really enjoyed reliving, reimaging, and reconstructing images from my year in a cocoon living in Sun Valley.
